Overload

So school is back in full swing for the both of us, thankfully Tanner is having an easier semester so far. He is keeping busy with his research position too. We found out little Noelle (our niece) is already teething! She is only 3 months old, technically 1 month since she's a premie. What a little trooper! She is getting cuter every day!

School is pretty much insanity for me right now, but I'm still having fun and strangely loving every minute of it. Today we had a lecture on burn victims and ICUs and I was thinking I might want to be an ICU nurse, but I also want to try medical, and pediatrics, and maybe even the NICU..ahh! Decisions, decisions..it made me realize I'll have to decide exactly what I want to do in less than a year. It will be great though and I'm so grateful to be going into a career that I truly love and will be able to make a difference. Yay for nursing!!

No more jiggle

So, this semester I have returned to the gym after a long leave of absence. It's just like seeing an old friend after a really long time, you're so excited to see them, but it's a little awkward at first. I climb onto the machines hesitantly, and away I go. But now at week three, that awkward period is just about past and now we're chummy again. I doubt I'll really lose anything since I just don't cut down on enough calories, but I would like to lose that squish under my butt and around the middle. And I would like to be able to do a decent bicep curl. Muscles, I've missed you, I'll see you soon!

Back in the saddle again

It's that time, back to school!! Today was my first day back and really, not that bad. After looking back on the first semester and feeling like it would never end, I realized, it ended. And I'm alive. So felt better and know I can do this whole nursing school thing. Tanner luckily has one more week off still, I'm so excited for him to be able to relax a little longer (even though I saw him take his Quantum Chemistry book into the bathroom yesterday..a little light reading I suppose). He has still been doing that research like a madman, but this past week has been absolutely wonderful. Spending time with your spouse really is good for your relationship, what do ya know? :) I feel bad, when we're both so busy and don't get to see eachother, we don't realize the different stresses the other one has, so we tend to get snappy with each other sometimes. But we have had so much fun being able to spend time together, take snuggly naps, and just sit there while Tanner makes me laugh my butt off. So I've decided that when we are together, the times when I can't study anymore and he's not doing anything; I won't spend complaining about school or studying, I'm just going to have fun with him, cause we're both so happy and it's so much better. I'm a little biased, but I just think my hubs is the best and the hottest, he would want me to include that too, and I love him so much! Ok, now just 3 1/2 more months to go till the end of this semester!

Another New Year!

Happy new year! It's amazing to think all that has happened in one year and how fast it has flown by. It's made me think of all the things that have happened and experiences we have had:

*We made it through our first year of marriage and it's been so much fun!
*We went to Maui!
*Tanner's brother Eric passed away, and we had the best and worst experiences of our lives. We all miss him so much, but we learned a lot about faith and know we will see him again

*We have a beautiful new niece
*I got into nursing school
*Tanner got accepted into his major and got a new research position
*We've been able to make it just fine with practically no money haha
These are just some of the things we've done this past year. For the new year Tanner has already made his goal sheet and will be posting copies of it around our apartment soon (last year he even hung a copy in the shower in a sheet protector). My main goals this year are to be healthier (like everyone else), get through nursing school, and most of all remember most of all to make time for the important things like family and church. I'm so grateful for all that we've learned this year, we have been so incredibly blessed and hope to make 2009 even better!
