Dreamy Quotes Are Back!

I know, I know, I have been terrible about posting Tanner's sleep talking. Some folks have reminded us that they have disappeared as of late. They were a regular part of the blog up until we had Eric. Then I learned to sleep through it, I think because I was so sleep deprived, and I went months without waking up to it. But there have been plenty of new ones this past year, I will write the few that I can actually remember:
*Also, all of these I remember happen when I get home from work at midnight/1 am and I come into bed and Tanner is already sleeping

After getting home from work and showering, I went to get into bed and Tanner sits up and starts yelling gibberish. I start laughing and climb into bed, but don't put the blanket over myself completely. Tanner makes a growling sound, then angrily jerks the blanket over me and says "put this back over, don't you know I'm multinucleated??"

I open the bedroom door and Tanner makes his scared sound and says, "Mom?? Is that you?" It's amazing to me how many times he has called me Mom in his sleep when he hasn't lived with his Mom in almost five years. Anyway, continuing on:
"No, it's me Nina."
"Nina who?"
"Nina, your wife."
"No you're not!"
"Yes I am."
I start getting in bed and Tanner starts to sit up and lifts his hand like he's going to slap me.
"Don't you do it!"
"Tanner, it's me, please, lie down and go to sleep!"
"Ok (insert sad tone), good night."

I walk in and Tanner stirs slightly. I turn around to put my clothes in the hamper and turn back around and Tanner sitting up facing me and says menacingly (we'll pretend that's a word): "WHO IS YOU?!?"
"It's me, Nina."
"Oh. Ok. You're so beautiful. Love you. Goodnight."

Just a few nights ago I came home and showered and couldn't go to bed yet because I needed to unwind so I watched tv for a few minutes. I was watching and the bedroom door opens and Tanner does a weird jumping step towards the couch and pulls his arm back with his hand in a fist. This is probably the only time I've almost worried Tanner might hit me in his sleep. As usual, he sounded angry/scared. "What are you doing in here?"
"I couldn't sleep, what are you doing?"
"What is this? I don't know." He then proceeds to turn around his head against the wall and I think he fell back asleep for a second.
"Tanner, go to bed, I'll be in soon."
"Ok. Bye bye."

Lying in bed Tanner's foot touched my leg and he started wiggling his foot and said, "Do you feel that? It's a fluid motion moving infinitely."

"I think you're an interesting chemical reaction going on here."

The funniest one recently I will have to edit because Tanner said a word that I can't put on here because this is a family friendly blog, but it was hilarious.
"You think you know?!"
"Know what?"
"Well I saw the green on the frog, and it was [crappy]!"
You can't judge him for swearing because it was in his sleep, so it doesn't count.

I will try to be better about updating them, sorry for the long hiatus!
*I feel I should add that no one need worry about me getting mauled by Tanner, he wouldn't really attack me. :)

Happy Birthday Eric!

Waking up-he's so happy, and he doesn't even know it's his birthday

He just loves his Daddy!

When you're the birthday boy, Mama makes you pancakes for breakfast
Milwaukee has a fabulous zoo, so we gave Eric an annual zoo pass for his birthday and we went that afternoon to celebrate. Eric actually looks at all the animals and is so cute to watch. I'm sure that will change once he can run around, so we're enjoying it while we can.

Who knew an albatross was so huge?

He is officially bigger than a baby gorilla

He loved the fish, we had to tear him away

One of the tigers pacing-Eric was just inches away, cool eh?

Eric and Mama
We had a little party here with our Wisconsin friends (we missed our friends the Bagleys, they were out of town) with cupcakes and ice cream. Our little apartment was packed, but it was a great time chatting and having fun with everyone! Thanks everyone for coming and helping make it a great day!
I'm lame and didn't take pictures of all the guests, but here are our friends Kaitlin, Eliza, and Cole (Not all in the same family :) )

He was a little freaked out by the singing

Our little family!

*Tanner probably doesn't want me to write this, but I have to give him props-he's lost 20 lbs since Jan 1, doesn't he look skinny?
And he's done

We skyped with family so they could see him eat cake too. He spent most of the time just patting all the frosting off, but it was cute to see him get so messy.

"I better try it off the tray."

"That way I can rest my feet in it too!"

Big Boy!

What have I done?!

The water turned brown from all the chocolate frosting
Here is Eric eating his birthday cake while we skyped with family (sadly, my mom's computer wouldn't work), he only took one actual bite the whole time, the other one he took he spit back out.

This is just a cute video to show how mobile Eric is and also to show off his first word: Dada. He actually says it when he sees Tanner, and as you will hear, when I tell him to say Mama. It's automatic, "Say Mama." "Dadadadadada!!!!!" Such a cute little nutcase!

Happy Birthday little Baby!

Isn't it amazing how much babies change in just one year? Our little boy turned one yesterday and I still can't believe it. You can see from the very beginning what a sweet personality our little man has. He is so happy and loving, we couldn't ask for a better boy. We love him more and more every day, even when it doesn't seem possible to love him more than we already do. We can't imagine our lives without our little stinkin' nutcase, he makes life worth living.

More pictures to come of his birthday after the weekend!
