One Month

Our sweet baby Eric is already a month old! He'll actually be five weeks tomorrow, time is flying by! He is such a good baby, he is happy and content, is actually a good sleeper for a newborn, and we just love him to pieces. He did his first real smile yesterday, Tanner was playing with him and talking to him and he looked right at Tanner and smiled, it was so cute! Aunt Aly got him these adorable frog jammies, I love them. I was lying in bed this morning thinking about the day he was born and the first time I saw him, he just makes me so happy! He is a noisy baby though, he loves to grunt and be really loud when he's falling asleep or first waking up.

These two with him sleep smiling are too cute, I just love watching him sleep!

He loves his baths! He'll fuss for a minute about being cold when we first undress him, but the second he hits the water, he just zones out.

I have to go back to work in a month, I know that is going to be hard, but I'm so thankful to be able to go part-time, so I'll only work two days a week. We are getting into a pretty good routine. Tanner is so great with him, I'm so lucky to have him.
In other news, we aren't moving until mid-July, but we have an apartment lined up for our move to Wisconsin! I'll post pictures next time, but they're so much bigger and nicer than our place now and the community we'll be living in is so great. The people are really friendly and supportive, they're all in the same boat we are. We're sad to be leaving, but at the same time, really excited for this new phase in our lives. I just know it's going to be such a great experience for us and really strengthen us as a family.
I'll end with a couple of Tanner's latest:
I was changing Eric's diaper in the middle of the night and I look up and Tanner is watching me and leaning on the wall and says, "I wish we could just spay and neuter all the idiots for breeding in this frigid cold." I couldn't think what to say to that.
As I came back to bed last night after a feeding, "You are the wind beneath my wings, the oil between my joints." That might be one of my favorites.
