Eric Update
Eric is getting so big, he's already 19 months! He just gets more and more fun every day. Here are some of the things he is up to these days:
He loves to dance. Any kind of music and he is right there, doing his running man move and bouncing up and down, twirling, raising the roof, you know it, he got the moves like Jagger.
He can blow kisses.
He loves being chased. He knows all the places we don't want him to go so he can get us to chase him.
He loves his buddy Jack, or "Guck Guck" as he calls him. They are the cutest little buddies and get so excited every time they see each other.
He can say his name, he points at himself and says, "Fafa." Close enough.
He can also say cracker, night night, mama, dada, Jack (pronounce "guck"), cheese, shoes, bye bye, makes almost all animal sounds, says "vroom!" for cars, trucks, and motorcycles, five (for a high five), and lots of other little things I can't remember right now.
He is obsessed with containers. If he can find a little container and things to put in and out of it, he'll stay at it for a good half hour.
He loves brushing his teeth, we do it about 3-4 times a day, it would be more if I gave in. It's not an OCD thing, it's a fun/yummy toothpaste thing.
He loves keys and 'opening' all the doors for us.
He just started loving swimming and is getting good at holding his breath-which is good and scary for Mama.
He can throw a good tantrum. The violent kind that he ends up hurting himself by throwing his head against something. Super fun. Still love him lots of course.
He is a binky addict and there aren't any signs of that changing any time soon.
He gives kisses by leaning in and bumping foreheads. Cute, but painful.
His 18 month stats: Head size-95%, no surprise there! I can barely get his shirts on!
Weight- 27 lb 5 oz 75-90%
Height-33 in 75%
He is so sweet and we just love this little boy to death!

More April....
April was a busy month for us. Eric officially started walking, Tanner was getting ready to wrap up his first year of med school, and Eric and I made a quick trip to Utah to be with my mom after she had surgery and be there for her birthday.
Eric is growing and learning so much every day. And lately, he's been learning to love to scrub things with a sponge. He has a few of his own clean sponges that are for him to play with. I just worry he may be learning to be OCD as well....but for now, I'm willing to just hope it turns into a healthy love of cleaning that will stick around for a while.
Eric reading at the downtown library in Milwaukee-I need to take more pictures next time we go, they have so much fun stuff.
Eric loved this little bird at the zoo, it came right up and started chirping at him.
While in Utah we also stopped by my dad's and my in laws. At my dad's Eric found a new fascination with their cat Izzy's tail, his favorite activity was stepping on it. Thank goodness he's been declawed.
At the zoo with Mama and Dada.
Playing Nana's piano, I think he definitely has some raw talent.
No hands!

His first carousel ride at the zoo with his friend Eliza
Best little buddies Jack and Eric :) Eric with his walker before he got the hang of it-he kept getting frustrated, but it was really cute.
Eric and his friends Jack and Norah-Eliza was playing peekaboo for the kids, they are all so cute together!

Dreamy Quotes Are Back!
I know, I know, I have been terrible about posting Tanner's sleep talking. Some folks have reminded us that they have disappeared as of late. They were a regular part of the blog up until we had Eric. Then I learned to sleep through it, I think because I was so sleep deprived, and I went months without waking up to it. But there have been plenty of new ones this past year, I will write the few that I can actually remember:
*Also, all of these I remember happen when I get home from work at midnight/1 am and I come into bed and Tanner is already sleeping
After getting home from work and showering, I went to get into bed and Tanner sits up and starts yelling gibberish. I start laughing and climb into bed, but don't put the blanket over myself completely. Tanner makes a growling sound, then angrily jerks the blanket over me and says "put this back over, don't you know I'm multinucleated??"
I open the bedroom door and Tanner makes his scared sound and says, "Mom?? Is that you?" It's amazing to me how many times he has called me Mom in his sleep when he hasn't lived with his Mom in almost five years. Anyway, continuing on:
"No, it's me Nina."
"Nina who?"
"Nina, your wife."
"No you're not!"
"Yes I am."
I start getting in bed and Tanner starts to sit up and lifts his hand like he's going to slap me.
"Don't you do it!"
"Tanner, it's me, please, lie down and go to sleep!"
"Ok (insert sad tone), good night."
I walk in and Tanner stirs slightly. I turn around to put my clothes in the hamper and turn back around and Tanner sitting up facing me and says menacingly (we'll pretend that's a word): "WHO IS YOU?!?"
"It's me, Nina."
"Oh. Ok. You're so beautiful. Love you. Goodnight."
Just a few nights ago I came home and showered and couldn't go to bed yet because I needed to unwind so I watched tv for a few minutes. I was watching and the bedroom door opens and Tanner does a weird jumping step towards the couch and pulls his arm back with his hand in a fist. This is probably the only time I've almost worried Tanner might hit me in his sleep. As usual, he sounded angry/scared. "What are you doing in here?"
"I couldn't sleep, what are you doing?"
"What is this? I don't know." He then proceeds to turn around his head against the wall and I think he fell back asleep for a second.
"Tanner, go to bed, I'll be in soon."
"Ok. Bye bye."
Lying in bed Tanner's foot touched my leg and he started wiggling his foot and said, "Do you feel that? It's a fluid motion moving infinitely."
"I think you're an interesting chemical reaction going on here."
The funniest one recently I will have to edit because Tanner said a word that I can't put on here because this is a family friendly blog, but it was hilarious.
"You think you know?!"
"Know what?"
"Well I saw the green on the frog, and it was [crappy]!"
You can't judge him for swearing because it was in his sleep, so it doesn't count.
I will try to be better about updating them, sorry for the long hiatus!
*I feel I should add that no one need worry about me getting mauled by Tanner, he wouldn't really attack me. :)
